What happens when you send a request out to the world to chronicle, via video, a single day on Earth? You get 80,000 submissions and 4,500 hours of footage from 192 countries. Producer Ridley Scott and Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald took this raw material — all shot on July 24, 2010 — and created Life in a Day, a groundbreaking, feature-length documentary that portrays this kaleidoscope of images we call life. National Geographic is bringing it to theaters starting July 24, 2011. Prepare to be amazed.

Bill Withers Punks USC Football Team
I am a huuuge fan of Bill Withers and thought this was great.
Someone involved in the University of Southern California's football team posted a video on YouTube of the team singing a rowdy and fun version of Withers' classic "Lean On Me". The video has received over 64,000 views and apparently one of the viewers was Withers himself.
Check out this newer video with a surprise appearance from Bill Withers.

Showbiz Pizza Band
It's weird. I was just talking about how the band from Showbiz Pizza was so much better than the one from Chuck E. Cheese's.
And now there is a movie about it!
Here's the trailer:

I was watching an interview on Carson Daly with a man who named Chris Thrash who, after purchasing the Showbiz Pizza Rock-afire Explosion Band, taught himself to program the animatronic band to lip-sync and play in time (complete with instrument solos) to current songs. By doing so he became an enormous sensation on YouTube.
You can watch the entire interview here:
The band MGMT recently asked Chris to program one of their songs for a video. On behalf of KNAPSACKHEROES! I am quite jealous. You can check out the MGMT video here. And there are more videos here.
If you're not a child of the 80s you may not be as excited about this as I am but I figured it's interesting anyway.

Church on the Move
I found this video on the Rethinking Youth Ministry blog and had to share it.
"This is a song about a church being moved hundreds of miles across the US on the back of a very big lorry. Features the 40 strong Manning Chorus in what is possibly one of the most bizzare bits of TV I've ever been involved in - a musical number at the end of a show about, basically, feats of engineering skill. Some of the footage is amost Fellini-esque. It's taken from the upcoming series MONSTER MOVES which airs on Five (UK) and National Geographic (USA) from early 2007." (HT to Chris Kidd).
