I've been going to Grace UMC for about 9 years, much longer than any church I attended growing up because my dad was an itinerant United Methodist pastor. To my recollection the longest I ever lived anywhere was four years, so that was how long I attended the church too.
So, it is with much sadness / excitement / fear / excitement / wonderment / trepidation and calling that Daphne, who has attended Grace or St Paul (the church that joined with Mt Juliet UMC to become Grace) her entire life, and I are leaving Grace in the fall/late summer to join and help start Providence United Methodist Church in Mt Juliet.
Indeed, we will be the worship leaders and are already listed as "co-directors of music worship".
Rev. Jacob Armstrong is the pastor of Providence and we are very, very excited about ministering with him.
We held an Easter sunrise service and around 150 people attended! The church will officially launch in August. Our next worship service will be Sunday, April 20 at 6 PM at Rutland Elementary School behind Providence Marketplace at 1995 S. Rutland Rd. We'd love to see you there.
