Movie Trailer of the Week (Big & Small) - "Knight and Day" / "Boy"
Big budget movie Knight and Day starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz (who had good chemistry together in Vanilla Sky) will release in theaters for the 4th of July weekend on July 2.
Indie movie Boy will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2010 this month. Among other things, it looks like a fitting if bittersweet love letter to Michael Jackson. It hasn't been picked up by a distributor yet, but will surely find one at Sundance.

Movie Trailer for the Week of Christmas - "Nativity!"
I don't know why so many British movies never make it to the states. This one looks promising. Nativity! stars Martin Freeman (BBC's The Office), Ashley Jensen (Extras, Ugly Betty), Marc Wootton, and a slew of improving kids. It released in the UK about a month ago. Maybe we can watch it on DVD next year.

Movie Trailer of the Week - Greenberg / Salt
I couldn't decide this week. On one hand you have Greenberg, the first Ben Stiller film since 1998's Permanent Midnight to showcase his dramatic acting ability. It was directed by Noah Baumbach, who previously helmed movies such Kicking and Screaming (1995), Mr. Jealousy, The Squid and the Whale, and Margot at the Wedding.
On the other hand, I've been wanting to post the butt kicking trailer for Salt starring Angelina Jolie for a while now. It just looks so good and the trailer literally brought me to the edge of my seat with excitement.
So, here are both. The quiet and the loud. The small and the big. Watch them here or watch them in hi-def at Apple the links under their names.

Movie Trailer of the Week - Humble Pie
It took a long time for 2007 film American Fork to come to theaters. It took so long they renamed it Humble Pie. It is showing in (very) limited release in theaters now. Nowhere near hear, I'm afraid.
I watched a ton of trailers (I had more to sort through considering I took last week off) and this was by far the most interesting of the pack. It's a shame it probably won't come to your local cineplex.
It releases on DVD December 8. Get it at Amazon or Netflix.

DVD Trailer for the Week of Halloween - Event Horizon
Event Horizon is one of the most frightening films I've ever seen. It's almost always miscategorized as sci-fi, but this film is horror in the vein of the Alien movies. Before Laurence Fishburne was the captain of The Nebuchadnezzar in The Matrix trilogy, he piloted the The Lewis & Clark on an expedition to find lost ship The Event Horizon. Turns out The Event Horizon is haunted and all they want to do is get off.
If you're looking for a truly scary psychological thriller for the week of Halloween, Event Horizon (also starring Sam Neill, Joely Richardson, and Richard T. Jones) truly delivers.

Movie Trailer of the Week - AMC's The Prisoner
This looks absolutely incredible and I can't wait. AMC will air The Prisoner, a six hour miniseries remake of the 1960s series The Prisoner beginning November 15. It stars Sir Ian McKellen and Jim Caviezel. This is a long preview but it's most certainly worth watching.
Learn more at the official site for The Prisoner.
