This is a terrible trailer for a fantastic film. This is Stephen Spielberg's first film. Originally made for television (a ABC Movie of the Week...remember those?), Duel was later released theatrically in the UK.
Duel is a very simple concept -- man goes on road trip for a business appointment, man tries to pass scary looking 16 wheeler semi and angers driver, man spends rest of film running from crazy truck diver.
Simple, but nearly perfect in execution, the film is Hitchcockian in its tension and suspense. The truck driver's face is never shown. The truck itself is the bad guy. Dennis Weaver delivers a one man show worthy of an Oscar and Spielberg cements himself as one of our great directors, right from the beginning.
